As a recipient of Federal Transit Administration grant funds, Simi Valley Transit has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program to ensure nondiscrimination in the award and administration of federally funded contracts. On a triennial basis, Simi Valley Transit is required to evaluate planned Transit capital projects and establish a participation goal for disadvantaged business enterprises. In accordance with these requirements, Simi Valley Transit has updated its DBE Goal for FY 2018/19, FY 2019/20 and FY 2020/21, and the DBE goal is set at 4%. Simi Valley Transit is conducting a public meeting to discuss the goal setting process and analysis. The Simi Valley Senior Center Performing Arts Group is pleased to announce its upcoming original musical production of “What! A Town Without Christmas?” on Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Friday, December 7, 2018, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Simi Valley Senior Center, located at 3900 Avenida Simi. This year’s winter production features a town pastor whose only wish is to have Christmas in his town. Unfortunately, the town Mayor has something against Christmas and bans all Christmas decorations and celebrations! The pastor calls to the heavens with the hope of restoring Christmas in his town. His prayers are answered by two angels who help the townspeople to bring about the change they were looking for. Admission is free and the Simi Valley Senior Center encourages all seniors and their families to attend. No reservations are needed, but there is limited seating so plan to arrive early.
