We’re not really men until we come to age and a lot of the things that we need to know upfront, we don’t find out until we experience them. What happened was, I had a lot of my male friends coming to me saying how do I attract this kind of woman or that kind or what do I do to keep her?  Back in Illinois, all my male friends were striking out 100%, they were just striking out left and right.  So, I was a nurse, a lot of my friends were female, and they started telling me things about guys, pick up lines, what they say, toupee’s, you know, buy me a Camaro and I’ll be your girlfriend, and they were snickering about it. And I said, “Okay, I got to do something about this. I had to tell my male friends what they were doing wrong… This book is a MUST for divorced and baby boomer men that are interested in attracting their life mate. The book will be of great help to men that went through a divorce after a long marriage and plunged into an empty phase of their lives. Here is what you will learn:How to interact as a man in a relationship with anyone you get involved with. What people want from a first date. How to communicate effectively in your relationship. How you can use the ABB (Always Be Broke) Theory to ace your date. How to know when to move on.The kind of men that women look for.How you can avoid feeling smothered. The type of relationship to avoid. How to avoid complacency in your relationship.GOLDEN rules on how to get women.Understanding the female sexuality and physiology. You’ll learn all these tricks and more… All events are subject to cancellation, so please check back!

True Crime Tuesdays with James T. Bartlett @ The Last Bookstore
Sep 18 @ 7:30 pm – 7:30 pm

True Crime is a love it or hate it kinda genre, and this group loves it. These are real stories of the extremes in human behavior — not only evil-doing, but in pushing back against that darkness. For September, we’re going undercover to fight the KKK with Ron Stallworth’s extraordinary Black Klansman – Yep, same as the current Spike Lee movie. An African-American infiltrates the Klan – over the phone – while his white partner acts as his stand-in for face-to-face encounters. It’s hard to believe they pulled this off, but hey – racists are idiots, so why not? Legendary.  HOW IT WORKS: All book clubs require a ticket, and include the book, snacks/bevs, and a dedicated moderator – to keep the discussion on track! All clubs meet at The Last Bookstore. You can get your ticket (we’ll ship the book to you!) at the link on this page – OR just come in to the store and look for our book club display (near the book tunnel). If you choose the on-line option (the one with shipping), please send a mailing addy to [email protected] Originally from London, James Bartlett is a journalist and author of the Gourmet Ghosts guides to murder, suicide, and other mysteries from L.A.’s bars, hotels and restaurants. His next book investigates a murder in Alaska that ends with a cryptic suicide in Hollywood. He can be found @GourmetGhosts or on the shelf of the California section at the Last Bookstore.
