3D printing has become the modern way to create, prototype, and prepare your parts before moving them onto mass manufacturing processes. From a 3D computer model, real objects are fabricated in a number of methods. In this two hour class, you will learn how to import, prepare and print your three-dimensional parts using the PolyPrinter 229 3D printer. Pre-Requisites None You will learn The theory of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing The various parts of the PolyPrinter 229 printer How to safely set up and check the operation of the PolyPrinter 229 printer How to set up Slicer for use with the 3D printer  The correct 3D mesh files ( .OBJ, .STL ) for printing, and what resolution you need How to download files from Thingiverse for printing When to use special features to print such as rafts, brims, skirts, support material How much infill to use, when, and why What materials you can use to print on the PolyPrinter 229, and which must be avoided You will need to bring A pad of paper to take notesYour laptop ( Windows, Linux, or Mac ) Class Duration One day, 2 hour course Class Size 5 students
