Introduction To Tai Chi @ Lau Kune Do Kung Fu and Tai Chi
Mar 12 @ 9:00 am – 9:00 am

Introduction To Tai Chi and Qi Gong You have likely heard of Taijichuan or read about it somehwere as a gentle art, or “those movements people do in the park”, but do you know why millions of people practice this art around the world?  Why it has not only persisted around the world, but is now more popular than ever in our fast changing society?  Now is the perfect opportunity to understand more and find out if Taijichuan is right for you. This is an introductory class providing an overview of the roots of Taijichuan, Qi Gong and the “internal arts”, their classifications, training objectives (collectively and our style specifically) as well as an introduction to the very unique Jiang style Ba Gu Zhang that is taught here.  How do the arts differ in their approach and training? What do those differences mean to me over time and should I care? What does Lau Kune Do offer that’s similar or different than other schools? Sifu McIntyre will be teaching these personally and will share with you his teaching modality, objectives and what you can expect to learn if being accepted as a student at our Temple.  You will also come away with a better understanding of what to look for and ask about if you are interested in other martial arts, or teachers in the area and provide you an excellent back drop of understanding. This workshop will be a combination of interactive lecture and practical application introducing proper warm up, flexibility and body maintenance all in a live hands on format. Join us for an informative and welcoming workshop and learn about how the arts can impact your life and how to make the most of what you have learned. Registration is required, friends and guests are welcome but please have them reserve as well. *This event requires a minimum of 3 attendees to be held* Special note: since this workshop involves movement, please come prepared with athletic shoes/sneakers, and loose fitting sweat pants (no jeans please) and a plain T-shirt.  You don’t need to be fancy, but just comfortable and with closed toed shoes on.

Introduction To Kung Fu @ Lau Kune Do Kung Fu and Tai Chi
Mar 12 @ 10:30 am – 10:30 am

Introduction To Kung Fu For many, the martial arts can at times seem confusing, mystical and violent just to name a few.  While none of these represent our Temple, nor most martial art schools, there is no clear way to deconstruct these stereotypes except actual face to face time spent to help you better understand what the arts truly stand for, how they can impact your life and if they are the right choice for you or your family. Where did the martial arts come from? Which type is right for me? What should I be looking for in a teacher? What can I expect to learn? This is an introductory class providing an overview to the roots of Chinese Kung Fu, their classifications, training objectives (collectively and our style specifically) as well as clearing up common misconceptions, concerns and false things about the arts. Nine debuted on Broadway in 1982. It went on to win five Tonys, including Best Musical, while the 2009 film adaptation, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson and others, was nominated for four Academy Awards. See this new production at the Costa Mesa Playhouse.

Based on Italian director Federico Fellin’s comic masterpiece of biographical film-making, 8 1/2, Maury Yeston’s sultry and enchanting musical follows the life of world famous film director Guido Contini as he prepares his latest picture and balances the numerous women in his life. Contini is also, after recent box office failures, drifting towards a nervous breakdown, from which he is held back only by the support of his wife, Luisa. As his sanity disintegrates, he drifts into nostalgic reverie, eventually focusing on the formative sexual encounter of his life, which occurred at the age of nine.

Jason Derulo LIVE @ Sutra Lounge
Mar 12 @ 9:00 pm – 9:00 pm

UP CLOSE & PERSONAL FOR AN INTIMATE SHOW HOSTED BY JASON DERULOOOOOOOOOOOOO…. With a knack for finding new angles to tried-and-true R&B trends, Jason Derulo launched his career while still in his teens, first as a songwriter for other artists and later as a solo performer. Born to Haitian parents in Miramar, Florida, he started singing at an early age. He attended performing arts schools in Florida and took some early stabs at music composition, writing his first song at the age of eight. His writing skills began attracting attention, and by his teenage years, Derulo had begun composing tracks for artists like Lil Wayne, Pitbull, and Pleasure P. He also wrote “Bossy” for Birdman, a New Orleans-based rapper, and made a guest appearance on the song, highlighting his ability as a vocalist. At the start of 2012, he embarked on the Future History Tour, but broke one of his vertebrae during rehearsals. As a result of his neck injury, he canceled the entire tour. Recuperating and reflecting upon his injury, he announced details of his new album and released the single “The Other Side” in April 2013. Derulo’s follow-up, “Talk Dirty,” featuring 2 Chainz, shot to number three on the pop chart during the summer of 2013, and the album Tattoos was released in September in most territories. The U.S. received a retooled version of the album in 2014 titled Talk Dirty. It featured several new tracks, including “Wiggle” featuring Snoop Dogg, which reached the Top Ten in the summer of 2014. With guest spots from Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and others, Everything Is 4 followed in 2015. The album featured the Top 10 single “Want to Want Me” and coincided with Derulo’s new job as judge on the 12th season of So You Think You Can Dance. ~ Jason Thurston & Andrew Leahey, Rov MORE INFORMATION:  714.548.5062
