We are excited to invite you to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.’s’ 110th annual Founders’ Day Brunch hosted by the Southern California Alphas. The honored guest and speaker will be Alpha Phi Alpha’s 34th General President Mark S. Tillman. This will be one of his final official acts as General President as he reaches the end of his term. We invite all to attend this breakfast and encourage you to purchase tickets early as there will be limited seating.  This event will sell out!  All proceeds will benefit Project Alpha’s Junior Gents mentoring program and academic scholarships.  Entertainment provided by Dr. James Benson and the Gow Dow Experience.

Welcome to our 2nd Annual Los Angeles Black Doll Affair Christmas Doll Delivery It’s a Barbie party, complete with FREE black dolls for the girls and one BIG self-esteem boost!
 WHO are WE? A partner with Barbie and acknowledged by President Barack Obama, The Black Doll Affair is a self-esteem movement and philanthropic social club! Created as a “pretty…philanthropic” solution to the ugly results of the black and white doll tests experiments, where black children selected the white doll as pretty and good and the black doll as ugly, bad and the one they least preferred, members are called The Black Dolls!:  Come out and enjoy. The Black Dolls are on a mission to change the way black girls are perceived, and, more importantly, perceive themselves! Your girls ages 3- 12 will enjoy an afternoon party complete with a pink carpet, games, prizes, snacks and Barbie dolls.   Attire: Girls dress as who they want to be when they grow up. Keep in mind the event is held outdoors at a park.  Theme attire is optional Important Note: Black Doll members and volunteers will be onsite to assist girls with the delivery but parents are required to stay with girls for entire duration of the event. Fall Toddler Storytime @ Culver City Julian Dixon Library

Storytime is a special time to make new friends and share stories, songs, play and more! Toddler storytimes will take place Tuesday mornings at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. Both will begin September 6. The 10:30 storytime will end December 13, while the 11:15 storytime will end October 11.Attendance will be on a first come, first served basis, limited to 25 children at each storytime. Tickets will be distributed outside the library beginning at 9:45 a.m.Toddler Storytime is for children 18 months – 3 years old.
