The Dan Band at Saint Rocke

Dan Finnerty caught America’s attention as the foul-mouthed wedding singer in the box-office smash Old School, performing his now-infamous rendition of Total Eclipse of the Heart, as well as his appearance as the sleazy bat-mitzvah singer in Starsky & Hutch and again as the inappropriate wedding singer in the record breaking hit, The Hangover.

What started as a drunken joke for Finnerty singing I Am Woman at a karaoke bar has spiraled out of control into THE DAN BAND – a cult phenomenon that has garnered rave reviews from The New York Times, The L.A. Times, Rolling Stone, Variety among others, and prompted Entertainment Weekly to dub it “The hottest ticket in Hollywood.”

THE DAN BAND plays to sold-out crowds from Los Angeles to New York and has appeared on numerous shows including The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ellen, The Late Late Show, Last Call with Carson Daly, Last Comic Standing, The Guys Choice Awards and caught the attention of Steven Spielberg, who signed on to executive produce Dan’s one hour concert special “The Dan Band: I Am Woman,” directed by McG.

THE DAN BAND has released two albums, “THE DAN BAND LIVE” followed by “HO – A DAN BAND CHRISTMAS” and is releasing a third album on July 10th called “The Wedding Album.”

THE DAN BAND tours all over the country, from comedy clubs and theatres to corporate events and the occasional wedding.

LL YOUR STORIES”All Your Stories” is the debut album from Southern California’s Barley Legal. Recorded in the span of a couple months in early 2010 at John Baffa’s TV Tray Studios in Simi Valley, the album captures the feel and flavor of California’s South Bay unlike any other recording. Barley Legal opted to go “old school” with their debut, recording most of the album live in the studio to analog tape, with very few overdubs. The result is an earthiness that reminds the listener of those old LP’s from the 1970’s.Compared to acts such as Tom Petty, Wilco, and the E Street Band, Barley Legal manages to come off sounding completely new and fresh, while reaching back a few years for its influence. The three singers share an uncanny knack for harmony, evoking the sound of the Everly Brothers or Simon & Garfunkel. The rest of the band is filled out by acoustic & electric guitars, keyboards, trumpet, saxophone, bass, and drums. And on a few songs, the boys are helped out by a string quartet. The album was produced by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Nate LaPointe, and was mastered By Evren Goknar at Capital Records in Hollywood.HISTORY OF THE BANDBarley Legal formed in 2009 at the house of Jason Carver in sunny Southern California. Following an afternoon of BBQ & Brew, a guitar made its way into the hands of the songwriter and, as if naturally, master vocalist Brent Reger began singing along with gloriously melodic styling to the strums of his long time friend. Humbled, Jason suggested a local showcase to his friend, and Barley Legal was born. To prepare for the upcoming, and now infamous, June 13th show at Suzy’s Bar N’ Grill in Hermosa Beach, the duo recruited South Bay Drummer Chris Shea and Philly Keyboardist Mike Morano to round out the band’s early lineup. As fate would have it, the band landed a Sunday afternoon residency at On The Rocks in Redondo Beach, where they would not only hone that classic BL sound, but find themselves a bass player as well. Jay Constable, an accomplished singer/songwriter, was one of the many talented local musicians who occasionally stopped by to jam with the band. In a matter of weeks, Jay came aboard to form what is now known as “The Original Five.” The band picked up steam around the South Bay, and to the delight of an ever growing fan base of Legalites, they were on their way. A recent poll showed that 9 out of 10 listeners preferred Barley Legal over other major bands. The immediate success of the band lured the ever elusive guitarist, Nate LaPointe, out of his hippie daze for a show at Kilkenny’s in Redondo Beach. The six musicians hit it off immediately, and Nate officially came aboard as lead guitarist and producer of the band’s debut album. As work continued on the album, the band hosted the First Annual Regerstock, an epic affair of local talent and goodwill in support of the recent passing of beloved brother Clinton Reger. During the closing hours of the festival, local sax player Stephen Herring joined the band for a roaring set of music that landed the musician the seventh spot in Barley Legal.
