Kimpton’s Shorebreak Hotel and Coco Joy are offering an exclusive opportunity to meet Sally Fitzgibbons, one of the world’s top pro surfers, as she competes in the 2015 Vans US Open of Surfing.

A great role model, Sally was the youngest surfer to win an ASP Pro Junior (Under 21’s) event. Her long list of achievements includes winning the Fiji Women’s Pro 2015 and 2014, Billabong Pro Rio De Janeiro 2014, and being ranked fourth at ASP World 2014.

The meet-and-greet will take place at Zimzala restaurant on Wednesday, July 29, between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend and it is an all-ages event.

Amigos de Bolsa Chica is proud to invite educators, environmentalists, scientists and SoCal residents to attend the film premiere for Saving the Bolsa Chica Wetlands, an inspiring short documentary about this nonprofit organization’s 40-year endeavor to save, restore and protect a very special ecosystem, which we can now call the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. The film premiere will take place at the Huntington Beach Central Library, located at 7111 Talbert Ave, in Huntington Beach, CA, on February 26th, 2016. Doors open at 6 PM and there will be a Q&A with the film producers and a wine & cheese reception with live music immediately after the screening. The Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce presents the 4th annual Green Forum, an event in conjunction with the Green Expo, which takes place on Thursday, October 6th from 5:30 – 8:00 PM at the Senior Center in Central Park. This year’s theme is Night of Energy: Plug Into the Future, and will feature speaker President of the California Public Utilities Commission, Michael Picker, who will be discussing our state of energy and where we are headed. Guests can look forward to networking during cocktail hour, live music, new energy saving technology showcase, a game show, business recognitions and hors d’ oeuvres. Attendees can look forward to a family fun zone, bike valet & fix it station, live bands, food trucks, electric cars, giveaways and more! The Green Expo is FREE and open to the public! Anaheim GardenWalk, a premier entertainment and dining destination in Orange County, will kick off its new Art on the Walk program with an interactive event on October 14.

The program is designed to give back to the community by showcasing the work of Southern California’s most talented artists throughout the Anaheim GardenWalk property.

The launch event will feature live entertainment including dance and musical performances from Sean Oliu, one of the six finalists on the NBC/ Telemundo program LA Vos Kids, the Spanish version of The Voice, an acoustic set at the House of Blues and a live four-piece band, My Guilty Pleasures, featuring rock and R&B classics. Artists participating in the event include: Artists Republic Gallery, students and teachers from Fairmont Private Schools, Chapman University and the Anaheim Elementary School District, the Anaheim Family YMCA in collaboration with ‘Stamp Pop’, Anaheim Art Association, Downtown Anaheim Association, Squared Co and Melina Ahmadzadeh, Graphic Design & Illustration. Of special note is a collection shown by Mike Stanley and Alyja Kalinich featuring the works of noted Russian painter, Nicolay Paskevich.

The Color Run Tropicolor World Tour will combine the enjoyment of a 5k with all the fun leisure of an island-style vacation–full of unforgettable memories, music, and colors. It will take place on Saturday, November 19 at Huntington State Beach starting at 8:00 a.m. Participants will experience an all-new Tropicolor Zone™ on course, where they will be bathed in a tropical array of colors and delicious island scents as they pass through the shade of palm trees, arches, and island-style music. At the Finish Festival, Color Runners will enjoy even more fun at Rainbow Beach, an interactive island featuring music, dancing, unique photo opportunities, and massive color throws. The run will benefit a local charity.
