Catholic School Lampooned in Off-Broadway Comedy Hit Sit up straight, spit out your gum and get ready for an “inspired, well-written and hilarious” (The New York Times) catechism class like no other. After a five-year tour through more than 400 cities around the world, Late Nite Catechism is coming to the Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach. A hilarious solo performance that’s part catechism class, part stand-up routine (think: Loretta Young meets Carol Burnett), this crowd-pleasing interactive comedy will take you back to the days of Latin Mass and meatless Fridays, when discipline meant a smack of the ol’ ruler across the knuckles. Dressed in her head-to-toe habit, Sister will reward her “students” (that’s you!) for correct answers with glow-in-the-dark rosaries and laminated saint cards. But mind your Ps and Qs, because naughty students may well find themselves on stage, sitting in a corner while reflecting on their sins!
Jazz Wednesdays Winter 2020, at the distinctive [seven-degrees] event facility, 891 Laguna Canyon Rd., presents some of the hottest straight ahead jazz musicians in the region in an intimate cabaret setting.

Return to the glory of 1960’s Las Vegas when a trio of friends, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. teamed up to play and perform together and take the world by storm. Sebastian Anzaldo (Frank Sinatra), Andy DiMino (Dean Martin) and Lambus Dean (Sammy Davis, Jr.) bring to life the iconic songs, great laughs and the spirit of those legendary performers. Get serenaded by Sinatra faves like “Come Fly With Me’” and “My Way,” Dino’s great songs like “Volare” and “Everybody Loves Somebody” and Sammy Davis, Jr. singing “Mr. Bojangles” and “The Candy Man.” Come and see why, generations later, the legendary Rat Pack continues to be a major influence, even today.
