The Laguna Beach Garden Club will showcase nine private gardens in the city’s charming Village neighborhood — including nearly an acre of magnificent grounds at an historic home — on its “Gate & Garden Tour,” May 6, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The one-mile walking tour marks the edge of the devastating 1993 fire and features stunning garden growth and regrowth. The event is the club’s major fundraiser, with proceeds going to scholarships, school gardens and community projects.

The “Gate & Garden Tour” will provide free refreshments, homemade cookies, a keepsake brochure and shuttle buses that take ticket holders from the registration area at Arabella Laguna historic cottages, 506 N. Coast Hwy, to the first garden – and back at the end of the tour. There will be plein air painters in several gardens and along the tour route. The club will also hold a plant sale and a raffle of items generously donated by Dana Point Nursery, Laguna Nursery, other businesses and local artists.

Tickets are $45 in advance and may be purchased online at www.LagunaBeachGardenClub.org and at Laguna Nursery, Dana Point Nursery, Laguna Beach Books, Laguna Drug and The Tides Inn. $50 tickets are available on the day of the tour at the registration area at Arabella Laguna.

Volunteers will be on hand to assist tour-goers. Water and restrooms will be available along the route. Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and brimmed hats are advised.
