Huntington U: Milton’s Shakespeare @ The Huntington, Munger Research Center

Thursdays, March 5-April 9 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Professor Heidi Brayman of the University of California, Riverside, leads a seminar centered on Milton’s epic “Paradise Lost”, putting it in conversation with Shakespeares plays, especially “Hamlet.” This six-week, college-level course includes lectures, discussions, and independent reading, but there are no papers to write and no final test. Class is held in the Seaver Classroom 3 of the Munger Research Center. Visit any admission window for directions to the Munger Research Center for check-in at 9:45 a.m. Registration is not available day of the event. To be added to a wait list, call 626-405-3457. Refunds require 5-day cancellation notification.

Doug will present a simple, time-tested and effective meditation technique. There will be a short meditation sitting as well. Meditation can bring about a sense of calm and balance that benefits both emotional and physical well-being, which in turn will impact overall health and reduce stress. It is easy to learn and can have many lasting and beneficial effects. And the benefits don’t end when the session ends. According to the Mayo Clinic* spending even a few minutes in meditation can restore calm and inner peace. Anyone can practice meditation.
