This is the company’s third annual evening of world premiere solo work featuring choreography from company members Katrina Amerine, Ashleigh Doede, Noel Dilworth, Jen Hunter, Karina Jones, Jenn Logan, and artistic director Nancy Evans Doede. Figures of Speech was born of a prompt from artistic director Nancy Evans Doede designed to challenge company members to create new material that would mix text and dance without speaking out loud. Each member was asked to choose a line from a book or play, or a stanza from a poem and use it as an inspiration for any or all aspects of their work. This year, in honor of the 1920 ratification of the nineteenth amendment, all literary inspiration will be from works by women. Q & A to immediately follow. To get tickets, go to the above link.
