The Red and the Black: Hilton Als on Lynette Yiadom-Boakye’s Painterly Universe
Hilton Als, Pulitzer Prize-winning New Yorker critic and curator of the exhibition “The Hilton Als Series: Lynette Yiadom-Boakye,” gives an epistolary-form talk exploring Yiadom-Boakye’s unique subject matter: imaginary portraits of people of color. Als analyzes Yiadom-Boakye’s portraits in the context of ideas about color put forth by thinkers ranging from Goethe to Ludwig Wittgenstein. This event is held in Rothenberg Hall.
