Mikki Marvel presents Figurative: A 24 Hour Life Drawing Event for the Triangle area. All traditional visual artists are welcome: drawing and painting media plus sculpting in clay or wax. Students welcome. This event is only open to paying artists – not to spectators. At the door, only hourly drop-in rate will be available. $7 hourly drop in price Early bird rates through March 1st: $65 for 24 hours $35 for 6 hours (consecutive) Cost includes: models, locations, non-instructional/supportive environment. Models will be clothed but will have an emphasis on the figure with leotards, etc. Just bring your art supplies and your creativity. BYOE = Bring Your Own Easel We will be at the studios near Triangle Towne Center on Barrow Drive which is a great space to dive into your art. We will help make sure your stuff gets loaded in safely! I will announce a schedule around April 1st, but please arrive expecting a variety of formats. I will work with models’ schedules and what format they excel at, as well as artist preferences! But I would love to know what formats you prefer! (Email me!) Who are the models? I will also announce around April 1st, but feel free to send your favorite models my way! There are so many artists. Will I be able to see the model? Upon registration, there is a question for when you plan to attend. If I expect there will be too many artists for a session, I will book an additional model. How can we tell these amazing models thank you? Please tip your models! Models are paid fair rates and treated with the highest degree of respect, but modeling is extremely hard work with a high-turnaround in the industry. Please tip your models and tell them how much you appreciate their hard work. (We will have tip buckets on-site for each model.) Food? Coffee? You are welcome to bring your own! We will have access to a coffee machine, fridge, and microwave. I will come up with a list of local options/delivery for us before the event! (Let’s coordinate a Starbucks run y’all!) Should I bring a chair? We have chairs covered, but feel free to bring one if you want something specific! Can we take reference photos? Photography will not be allowed at this event, not even with camera phones. Tickets are non-refundable. If you cannot attend, please consider your ticket as a way to give back to the event. If I cancel this event for any reason, I will refund.
