A VERY BRITISH LESBIAN – APRIL 5 2020 @ Santa Monica Playhouse
Apr 5 @ 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm

Fiona Goodwin is: A Very British Lesbian A one woman show about saving one’s own life Written by and starring Fiona Goodwin Confession: Fiona Goodwin is British. Very. And also, she’s a lesbian. Very. Her religion, family and country urge her to be be straight. Ms.Goodwin, however, has other urges that involve rescuing pretty maidens. I spent three decades lying to myself about the fact that I am gay. Despite religious exorcisms, a lifetime of jungian analysis, dating countless beautiful but unavailable women and one very available sweaty man, Fiona Goodwin is, and always will be, a very British lesbian. And you have been invited to her coming out party. Fiona Goodwin trained as a nun in her early 20s. Following several failed exorcisms and a starring role on stage as Satan with a wandering troupe of missionaries in South America, she performed penance for countless years as an inner city school teacher in the UK. Her dramatic escape to the United States in 2005 and the strange adventures that have followed her everywhere, have been the inspiration for her one woman show: A Very British Lesbian which she currently performs to stunned audiences both in Los Angeles and London. This one woman show is directed by the internationally acclaimed Wendy Hammers. Her theatre directing credits include John Ciccolini’s ‘Frank Sinatra Screwed Up My Life'(2013 LA Comedy Festival Winner) and Stephanie Blum’s ‘When I Cough I Wet Myself” Ms Hammers has made appearances on Oprah, The Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Rosie O’Donnell, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos. Einstein! @ Santa Monica Playhouse
Apr 28 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Einstein! Santa Monica Playhouse 1211 4th Street Santa Monica, CA 90401 ONE SHOW ONLY! WEBSITE: http://einsteintheplay.com/Einstein/Einstein_Home.html Its Berlin 1914, a younger, pre-crazy-haired, Albert Einstein awaits news from an eclipse expedition that will prove his Theory of General Relativity. But Einstein is sent sideways in a world crumbling around him due to The Great War, colleagues stealing his theories, being isolated for his pacifist views, a wife who won’t give him a divorce, his failing health, a huge scientific backlash, anti-Semitism, thoughts of suicide, his own self destructive genius and a young son fighting for his father’s affections. Meanwhile, he comes up with a theory that changes the way we live our lives today. Einstein! is an inspirational and true story. Based on the recent release of 15,000 documents and three years of research– writer and performer Jack Fry shares insight into Einstein’s early life, a story that few people know. Among many things, this play highlights the trials we all face as individuals in a world that at times doesn’t want us to succeed. This show, told in extraordinary detail, sheds light on the triumph of the human spirit as we are witness to history’s hand pushing, pulling, and knocking Einstein about, at last giving birth to our modern technical age. It’s truly the story that made his hair “crazy.” * 90 minutes FREE PARKING at parking structure directly across from theater. * Show runs 80 minutes with NO INTERMISSION. * Our popular VIP tickets are available again!
