Matty: An Evening with Christy Mathewson “A perfect pitch! Pure Virtuosity!” (Clive Barnes, New York Post). Just in time for baseball season, the Santa Monica Playhouse Benefit series in association with the Mathewson Foundation presents a special two performance home series of Eddie Frierson’s widely acclaimed theatrical show. “One of the Year’s Ten Best Plays! “Whether you are a baseball fan or not, Matty hits a home run!” (NPR). Written and performed by Eddie Frierson, directed by Kerrigan Mahan, Matty is the life story of Christy Mathewson, legendary hall-of-fame pitcher for the New York Giants (1900 to 1916), gentleman, philosopher and first true American hero who inspired a whole generation of fans to make baseball America’s pastime.

Our 6th Annual Chords2Cure Concert will be held on March 15th, 2020. Registration/will call opens at 2:45 pm Reception will begin at 3:00 pm CONCERT STARTS AT 4:00 pm (sharp) at the Eli and Edyth Broad Stage at Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center. Chords2Cure is an organization that raises funds for pediatric cancer research. It was conceived in 2015 by a handful of middle school students desperate to help two classmates who had been diagnosed with rare pediatric cancers. Both teens are now in remission. All kids shared a passion for music, hence the idea was born to do an annual concert to help fund their UCLA oncologist’s Dr. Noah Federman’s research.

Come and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us! We’ll learn to cook (and taste) with stouts and beers and infuse our dinner with flavors of Ireland.

Our classes are held in commercial kitchens, and we provide everything you need. Classes are BYOB (bring-your-own-beverage) if you would like to bring your own beer or wine, as you sit down and enjoy what you have made. Otherwise, we provide water, coffee and tea. We also ask that you “BYOC” (bring-your-own-container) if possible to take home any leftovers. Please arrive on time in comfortable attire and closed-toed shoes.

Note that we do not offer refunds but honor a 48-hour cancellation policy in order to reschedule your reservation.
