Course Description: Race start 7:am half marathon / 7:15-10k / 7:30 -5kThe race will start at  Rancho Simi Park at  1765 Royal Ave, Simi Valley CA 93065  and run along the Arroyo bike path   . Which is lined with beautiful trees for shade and makes a wonderful environment.  The bike path runs through the center of Simi Valley and along the Arroyo Creek. This is still home to ducks and herons, (not cranes), who are soaking up the sun while playing in the gently flowing spring /summer time  water.  There will be Aid stations every 1.5 miles.Weekend Warriors / Beginners / walkers: Yes, this is a very walker friendly course! It is mostly flat, with a few gentle rollers to keep you on your game. There are plenty of aid stations, and this event is loads of fun!  There is a: Generous 4:00 hour time limit for the half marathon, so take your time and enjoy the scenery! Middle of the pack runners:Looking for a PR (Personal Record)?? Then this is the race for you! Mostly flat course, with some gentle rollers and plenty of room to make your move towards your new PRElite and Advanced runners: This mostly flat course along with some mild rollers, which are mid way through your run. There are some long stretches to allow you to really open up your speed along the last few miles of the course.   All Runners will receive:Finisher medalRace day athlete t-shirtCustom Goody bag with race day logo Free plate of fresh pancakes

Free Residential Cleanup and Recycling Day @ Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center

Residents of Simi Valley may dispose of residential cleanup material for free at the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center, 2801 N. Madera Road, on Sunday, May 17, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Appliances, clean concrete and asphalt, clean wood and green waste, and construction or demolition material will also be accepted for recycling.Residents are requested to separate recyclable material from trash so it can be recycled and not landfilled. The California Highway Patrol requires all loads to be covered to prevent spillage. Proof of Simi Valley residency, such as a driver’s license or trash bill with a Simi Valley address, will be required. Residents must unload their own vehicles. No commercial waste, hazardous waste, electronics, liquids, tires, household batteries, products containing mercury (such as thermostats), or fluorescent light tubes and bulbs will be accepted. This event is for Simi Valley residents only with a maximum of two loads per household. Please visit the Simi Valley Landfill’s website for more information. Any residents transporting waste or recyclables in a commercial vehicle are subject to standard gate rate fees.
