Venice, CA— On August 11, 2015, The G2 Gallery will premiere Nature LA: Mandalac Gardens, a collection of groundbreaking photographs from the collaborative efforts of Robert Glenn Ketchum and Michael Jones.
Intended to be organic mandalas upon which one can meditate, the images in Mandalac Gardens are derived from Ketchum’s vast library of nature, printed with dyes embedded in aluminum sheet, and then the external shape is cut out with a laser-router. This series is, like much of Ketchum’s work during its time, on the cutting edge of the photography world.
Ketchum has been called by American Photo one of the five American Masters of photography and one of the 100 most influential people to shape the environmental movement by Audubon Magazine.
The opening reception for Nature LA: Mandalac Gardens, as well as Andrei Duman and Diversity of California Wetlands, will be held on August 15 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Admission is $10 at the door and includes wine, hors d’oeuvres and complimentary valet in front of the gallery. All proceeds from admissions will be donated to Heal the Bay.

On September 29, 2015, The G2 Gallery will premiere Off the Beaten Path: Views from Yosemite, a photography exhibit in honor of the park’s 125th anniversary featuring both renowned artists and talented hobbyists.
Off the Beaten Path is the latest of several multi-artist, open-submission exhibitions put on by The G2 Gallery in 2015. Featuring more than 30 artists from all over the United States, the show started with a public call for entries.
“The idea was to build a show celebrating a public national treasure by getting as many new perspectives as possible from our pool of talented former exhibitors, but also the general public,” says G2 Director Jolene Hanson. “We received hundreds of worthy submissions.”
Among the photographers in Off the Beaten Path are North American Nature Photography Association Lifetime Award Winner Clyde Butcher, filmmaker Jason Fitzpatrick, whose documentary Mile…Mile & a Half screened at the 2014 G2 Green Earth Film Festival, Amy Lane, who has worked on the NFL Super Bowl gallery’s photo restoration project, and Ansel Adams, the most famous nature photographer of the 20th century.
The opening reception for Off the Beaten Path: Views from Yosemite will be held on October 3 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door and includes wine, hors d’oeuvres and complimentary valet in front of the gallery. All proceeds from admissions will be donated to the Yosemite Conservancy. RSVP to rsvp@theg2gallery.com.
