On April 7, 2016, The G2 Gallery, El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument and Western National Parks Association will open Earth Month Los Angeles 2016 at El Tranquilo Gallery & Information Center.
The popularity of last year’s collaborative exhibit on local, state and national parks in California, led the curator to produce the second iteration of Earth Month Los Angeles, which focuses on National Parks and native lands. Images from The G2 Gallery’s 100 Years of National Parks highlight Yosemite, Cape Cod National Seashore, Arcadia National Park, Niagara Falls National Heritage Area and many other National Park Service-maintained sites.
The opening reception for Earth Month Los Angeles 2016 will be held on April 7 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Admission is free, and complimentary hors d’oeuvres and wine will be offered.
On April 5, 2016, The G2 Gallery will premiere 100 Years of National Parks: The South, the second in the gallery’s four-part special exhibit series celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the National Park Service.
The National Park Service (NPS) was founded in 1916 and oversees hundreds of parks, historic sites, landmarks, museums, trails and more. In The South, images of NPS-maintained areas from Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia will be on display.
The opening reception for 100 Years of National Parks: The South will be held on April 9 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door and includes wine, hors d’oeuvres and complimentary valet in front of the gallery. All proceeds from admissions will be donated to The Wilderness Society. RSVP to rsvp@theg2gallery.com.

The 4th Annual G2 Green Earth Film Festival is an environmental film fest held at G2 Gallery in Venice August 5-7, 2016. It’s a weekend of screenings, fascinating guest speakers, live music, cocktail hours, after-parties and more – all completely free to the public. Our belief is that environmentalism is for everyone, so we’re tearing down the barriers of “too dry” or “too difficult” or “too boring” or “too privileged” or “too expensive” with this weekend of learning, fun and igniting activism.
