HB APA’s innovative MMET department will present its annual celebration of classic rock music this April. This year’s undertaking? The pinnacle of “whatever-ness” and a place no RETROFEST has ever gone before: the 1990s. Watch high-school-level students perform some of the greatest songs of the decade, with a mix original student shorts and nostalgic media plucked right from the decade itself.
Celebrate and Dress to Inspire at the Huntington Beach Art Center’s second annual RESPECT, REUSE, RECYCLE, REPURPOSE, and UPCYCLE “friend-raising” party, May 2 from 7-10pm, at the Huntington Beach Art Center!
The Huntington Beach Art Center Foundation and Artist Council invite art patrons to show off their talent and creativity; promoting respect for our environment, while raising money to support exhibition and educational programming at the Art Center. We are partnering with HB Corner Market and Fit & Style of Long Beach for a night of fashion and festivities under the stars with live music by Rosewood.
So, what to wear!?!? The only limit is your imagination! Come dressed in ensembles that have been gifted, thrifted, hand-made, or even your favorite outfit! Get inspired, as this fundraiser is to raise awareness and respect for our environment. Use less, waste less, and be eco-friendly! As your creative wheels turn, be sure to share your enthusiasm with your friends to spread the importance and fun of respecting, reusing, repurposing, recycling, and upcycling your wardrobe!
In the Art Center’s spring exhibition, students and their professors from Orange County community colleges investigate historic and contemporary trends in Southern California design. Ceramicists, glass artists, fashion and jewelry designers, highlight current interpretations of traditional materials and their functions. Dress to Inspire will also feature a spectacular live fashion show of original work by these students.
Your $45 ticket includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts, 2 drink tickets (21+), a silent auction, live music, great conversations and fun prizes! With the “Sponsor a Student Ticket” guests help support attendance and participation of the talented artists.
