Othello is a revered General and war hero who has won the love of Desdemona. But when he chooses Cassio rather than Iago for a promotion, jealousy and hatred begin to poison established and treasured relationships. Every loyalty is questioned as perceptions shift and Othello realizes too late that his greatest enemy is his own pride. Considered one of Shakespeare’s four great tragedies, Othello is as unflinching in its power as it is in its heartbreak.
