The South Bay Community Concert Association (SBCCA) of Redondo Beach, Ca., an all-volunteer non-profit organization, sponsors five or six live concerts each year (September through April/May) featuring national and international attractions. These concerts are open to our subscribers at no additional charge. The race, on a fast, flat, scenic course that winds along the Redondo Beach waterfront, is popular with runners and walkers from throughout the South Bay Beach Communities. In the past, participants ran as old as 85 years old. There will a 5K run and community walk, a costume contest, a two-day Health & Fitness Expo, and a post-race party. This event has over 1500 runner participants each year.

Five finalists from a field of 15 to 20 are chosen from the preliminary competition. They will perform their concerti (or like composition) in full concert dress with piano accompaniment playing the orchestral part. Judging will occur after final contestant, and the winner will perform his/her concerto as featured soloist at the Peninsula Symphony’s June 18, 2017 concert.
