George Cassar has a real passion for developing people across all ages to achieve their life’s dreams and goals. George has just come out of an extensive career at Raytheon for 28 years, working as a Systems Engineer in developing Tactical Radio Systems for the US Army & Marine Corps as well Training and Development in the Systems Engineering and Engineering organizations at the Space Airborne Systems division. In 2014, George transitioned from Raytheon to Dale Carnegie of Southern Los Angeles. He provides business performance consulting and training to organizations in the art of “Winning Friends and Influencing People” to ensure a highly engaged workforce. George is also the President of a non-profit educational resource center near UCLA, responsible for directing leadership programs in Southern California for high-school, college, and young professionals. He earned a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Loyola Marymount University. He is certified Dale Carnegie Trainer & Performance Consultant specializing on : Effective Communications & Human Relations, and High Impact Presentations, 2015.
Village Runner 4th of July 5K Presented by UCLA Health

This race benefits the American Cancer Society. Partnering through Relay for Life, a percent of the proceeds will support the charity’s cancer research and free patient programs.
This event has grown to over 3000 runners participants. The race, on a fast, flat, scenic course that winds along the Redondo Beach waterfront, is popular with runners and walkers from throughout the South Bay Beach Communities. Runners also come in from across the country and from around the world! Participants range from 4 years old to up to 90 years old. There will be a costume contest, a two-day Health & Fitness Expo, Firecracker races for children, and a post-race party.
College elite runner Kayla Montgomery, who is currently battling the ravages of MS, will run the 5K and, just prior to the race, will be honored with the Pathfinder Award. Other special guests include Redondo Beach City Council member, Jeff Ginsburg, and this year’s honorary race starter, Redondo Beach Mayor, Steve Aspel.

o Award Ceremony & Post-Race Party will be held at Rock and Brews (PCH and Palos Verdes Blvd) starting at 9:00AM. Ends at 12:00PM.

Boating Safety Day will have the latest in boating safety equipment: EPIRB’s, PLBs, Visual Distress Signals and inflatable life jackets. Receive hands on training on proper deployment of VDS from USCG Instructors, proper use of Marine Fire Extinguishers, knot tying, sign up for USCG Aux boating Safety Classes or schedule a boat safety inspection.
